Chair Reid called the meeting to order at 8:08 am.
Approval of Minutes
MOTION: Sen. Osmond moved to approve the minutes of the February 6, 2013 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Madsen, Sen. Stevenson, and Sen. Urquhart absent for the vote.
Sen. Reid relinquished the chair to Sen. Osmond.
S.B. 39 Parental Responsibility for Sex Education Training (Sen. S. Reid)
Sen. Reid introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Urquhart moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed, with Sen. Jones and Sen. Stephenson voting in opposition, and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
S.B. 169 Education Task Force (Sen. S. Reid)
Sen. Reid introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to amend the bill as follows:
1. Page 3, Lines 60 through 61:
60 (a) identification of long-term education policies necessary to help job creation and
61improve the state's economic prosperity;
The motion passed with Sen. Madsen voting in opposition, and Sen. Stephenson and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
MOTION: Sen. Jones moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Stephenson and Sen. Stevenson absent for the vote.
Acting Chair Osmond adjourned the meeting at 9:57 am.
