Acting Chair Osmond called the meeting to order at 4:16 pm.
1st Substitute H.B. 254 College Credits for Veterans (Rep. P. Ray)
Rep. Ray introduced and explained the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Stevenson moved to amend the bill as follows:
1. Page 2, Lines 36 through 41:
36 (2) An institution of higher education listed in Section 53B-2-101 shall award credit for
37military service and training as recommended by a postsecondary accreditation agency or
38association designated by the State Board of Regents
39 (a) requested by the student; and
40 (b) the student has met with an advisor at an institution of higher education listed in
41Section
