Chair Bramble called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.

Chair Bramble announced that at the request of the sponsor, S.B. 219 will not be heard today.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to approve the minutes of February 20, 2013. The

motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

H.B. 303 Trust Deed Assignment Amendments (R. C. Webb)

Rep. Webb introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Hinkins moved to transmit H.B. 303 favorably. The motion passed

unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Valentine absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen Hinkins moved to place H.B. 303 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed

unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Valentine absent vote.

S.B. 210 Amendments Related to Use of Business Names (T. Weiler)

Sen. Weiler introduced and explained the bill assisted by Bob Hood, citizen.

Kathy Berg, Director, Division of Corporations, Department of Commerce, further clarified the bill and answered questions from the committee.

MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to transmit S.B. 210 favorably. The motion failed with Sen.

Weiler voting in favor and Sen. Bramble, Sen. Mayne. Sen. Hinkins and Sen.

Valentine voting in opposition to the bill and Sen. Henderson and Sen. Davis absent for the vote.

S.B. 214 Continuing Education for Prescription Drugs (P. Jones)

Sen. Jones introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to adopt 1st Sub. S.B. 214. The motion passed unanimously

with Sen. Davis, Sen. Henderson and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

Spoke in favor of the bill: Mark Brinton, General Counsel and Director of Government

Relations, Utah Medical Association

Candace Daly, Executive Director, Utah Podiatric Medical Association

MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to transmit 1st Sub. S.B. 214 favorably. The motion passed

unanimously with Sen. Davis, Sen. Weiler, and Sen. Henderson absent for the vote.

1st Sub. H.B. 245 Consumer Protection Amendments ( D. Brown)

Rep Brown introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke in favor of the bill: Traci Gunderson, Director, Utah Division of Consumer Protection

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to transmit 1st Sub. H.B. 245 favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

2nd Sub. H.B. 286 Disposition of Personal Property on Vacated Property (G. Froerer)

Sen. Froerer introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to transmit 2nd Sub. H.B. 286 favorably. The motion passed unanimously.
