Agency: Utah College of Applied Technology Line Item: Davis ATC Function The Davis ATC (DATC) is located in Kaysville. DATC generated 1,708,338 membership hours in FY 2011, with 85 percent post-secondary and 15 percent secondary students from two school districts. It offers a wide range of courses in business, information technology, health sciences, and technical trades including national training partnerships with MACK and Volvo heavy truck divisions. Davis works cooperatively with Weber State University to offer associate degrees in Nursing and Diesel Technology. In addition, Davis provides space for 10 full time faculty members from Davis School District to teach English as a Second Language and Adult Education programs.
Intent Language The Legislature intends that institutions in the Utah System of Higher Education and the Utah College of Applied Technology review the return on the taxpayer's investment when budget reductions are made and if additional funds are appropriated. This review propose ways to maximize the return by providing students with the skills necessary to enter the workforce. The Legislature further intends that the results of this review be reported to the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee not later than January 2012.
