This bill will generate additional revenue for the Transportation-Department of Public Safety Restricted Account of approximately $244,000 from a shift of fees. The amount allocated to assist law enforcement agencies will most probably be under the indicated 40 percent since the Transportation-Department of Department of Public Safety Restricted Fund will be overexpended if the Governor's budget proposals for FY 98 are adopted by the Legislature.
