This legislation extends child care licensing requirements. It also requires that a range of licenses be available depending on the type and level of care provided. It is estimated that the additional licensing requirements will cost a total of $240,600 annually for four additional licensing staff and one support technician plus related equipment and operating expenses. This funding will go to the Department of Health if House Bill 113 passes (transferring the child care licensing function to Health). If House Bill 113 does not pass, the funding would go to the Department of Human Services. Revenue from the new licensees is estimated at $30,000.
