This bill transfers the responsibilities for Family Support programs from the Department of Human Services to the Department of Workforce Services. The bill removes the requirements for certain adoptive parents to reimburse the State for the assistance provided the natural mother. To date, 10 cases have been opened under that provision. The State has been reimbursed in one case for the amount of $409. Any loss of revenue under this provision would likely be insignificant.
