This legislation directs the Department of Human Services to contract with a statewide, nonprofit foster parent organization to help recruit, retain, and assist foster parents. The bill allows this organization to solicit donations and grants for its support. Total initial operating costs are estimated at $62,900. Over time, it is possible that grants and donations will reduce the need for State funding for this contract.
