The provisions of this bill will change the State employee pay plan merit step increments from 2.75 percent to 3.0 percent. There will be a one-time funding expense of $8,793,000 to adjust current State employees to the new pay plan structure. Thereafter, statewide merit increases will be .25 percent more or approximately $900,000 more per step than the current statewide plan.
