This bill will have no fiscal impact on the State unless the Legislature exercises the option, under the bill's provisions, of appropriating funds for a State contribution. If this option were exercised, a maximum appropriation of $1,508,000 from the Uniform School Fund to the State Board of Education would be required. The maximum assumes that all eligible local schools districts levy at least a .0002 Optional Special Transportation Levy. The bill will also increase local expenditures for transportation if local school districts implement the bills provision for raising the maximum for this levy from .0002 to .0003 of taxable property value.
