In FY 2001. this bill appropriates $8,000,000 from the Tobacco Restricted Account to the Department of Health for tobacco prevention programs ($6,000,000) and local health departments ($2,000,000). In subsequent years, the appropriation will be 25 percent of the funds deposited in to the Tobacco Restricted Account from the Tobacco Settlement. Assuming FY 2001 deposits into the account of $27.0 million, the FY 2002 appropriation would be $6.75 million.
