It is estimated that approximately 2,200 vehicles will be impounded each year. With a $5 fee, revenue is estimated at $11,000 and will cover the ongoing administrative costs of the Tax Commission. For the cars impounded and stored in error, the cost for reimbursement is estimated to be approximately $47,500 per year from the Transportation Restricted Fund. FY 2000 supplemental funding for one-time programming costs by the Tax Commission will be required and are estimated at $8,500. The actual cost depends on the number of similar bills requiring programming changes that are passed by the Legislature.
