Provisions of this bill increase the recycling fee for retail purchase of a tire from $.85 to $1.00 per tire. It is estimated that $336,400 in increased revenue will be realized in FY 2001 to the Waste Tire Recycling Expendable Trust Fund. An appropriation of $8,600 in FY 2001 to the Tax Commission will be made for collection of the increased revenue. The remainder of the funds will go to the trust fund to reimburse waste tire recyclers. This fund is an expendable trust fund, which allows for expenditures (reimbursements) without needing an appropriation. It is anticipated that the reimbursements will utilize all of the revenue available in the trust fund in each year.
