HB0202 - Foreign Exchange Student Amendments

State Impact:
Implementation of provisions of this bill may increase the total number of Weighted Pupil Units funded by the state through the Minimum School Program, but the overall impact may be negligible. During the 2004-05 school year, 13 Utah students participated in foreign exchange and 9 foreign students attended Utah's schools. An increased cost may result if one of the 13 Utah students returned to their home high school prior to the end of the school year and the home high school accepted a foreign student in the place of the Utah student.
