SB0236 - Revenue Bond and Capital Facilities Authorizations and General Obligation Bond Authorization Amendments

State Impact:
Debt service on revenue bonds authorized in this bill will be paid from increased departmental/institutional operating revenues which result from the projects/acquisitions outlined in the bill. Amendments to a prior general obligation bond authorization lower the amount of donations required before bonds may be issued, but do not change the bond itself. Regarding non-state funded projects outlined in the bill, if institutions are successful in raising non-state funds sufficient to construct the buildings, the bill allows certain institutions to request state funds for operations and maintenance in the future. If institutions request such funding, it is anticipated to be as follows: University of Utah Pharmacy Building Expansion: $1,327,800 University of Utah Eccles Business Building Remodel: $244,000 Snow College Traditional Building Skills Building: $121,700

Individual and Business Impact:
No fiscal impact.
