Fiscal Note - State of Utah - 2011 General Session
SB0023 - State Highway System Modifications
State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Provisions of this bill add 56.9 lane miles of newly constructed highways to the Department of Transportation inventory of highways. Based on average maintenance costs of UDOT highways throughout the state, these new lane miles would cost $502,700 annually to maintain. UDOT indicates that it can absorb within its existing maintenance budget the cost of maintaining increased lane miles by reducing maintenance elsewhere.
