Fiscal Note - State of Utah - 2011 General Session
SB0209 - Telecommunications Amendments
State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enactment of this bill will likely result in compensating changes to the revenue stream. There is not enough information to give a reliable estimate of the net difference.
Local Governments (UCA 36-12-13(2)(c)):
Enactment of this bill likely will not result in direct, measurable costs for local governments.
Direct Expenditures by Utah Residents and Businesses (UCA 36-12-13(2)(d)):
Enactment of this bill will decrease the amount of surcharge allowed from 25 to 20 cents per month for each residential and business telephone number. It also incorporates mobile telecommunications service in the entities that will be surcharged. This may adjust revenue amounts to the fund for telecommunications devices, but that revenue shift is not presently quantifiable.
