State Government (UCA 36-12-13(2)(b)):
Enacting this bill will likely cost the state $195,000 ongoing from various funds for health insurance premiums. The bill may cost public education about $165,000 from the Education Fund presuming the state pays this cost. It will also cost the Insurance Department about $6,700 one-time from the Insurance Department Restricted Account to review plans and rules. Insurance Department Restricted Account revenues and expenditures affect the annual transfer to the General Fund.

Utah businesses and individuals should see higher insurance premium costs to provide the required additional coverage. There will be a corresponding benefit to eligible individuals.
