Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $344,300 from all sources for Educational Equity. This is a 4.6 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $381,400 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 3.6 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.

Intent Language

HB0002: Item 4

The Legislature intends that the Utah State Board of Education use any nonlapsing balances generated from the licensing of Student Assessment of Growth and Excellence (SAGE) questions to other states to develop additional assessment questions and provide professional learning for Utah educators.
