The Navajo Water Rights Negotiation Account was created by H.B. 127 during the 2012 General Session. The purpose of the account is to provide funding for projects related to the plan, design, and construction of drinking water projects to serve populations located on the Navajo Nation reservation within the boundaries of Utah.
In addition to creating the account, H.B. 127 appropriated $2 million in one-time funding to it. An appropriation by the Legislature is necessary to access funds in the account. Interest earned on the account balance is remitted to the General Fund.
COBI contains unaudited data as presented to the Legislature by state agencies at the time of publication. For audited financial data see the State of Utah's Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports.
