Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $104,700 from all sources for Center on Aging. This is a 2.1 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $104,700 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 2.1 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.

Commission Meeting Particpants, Community Partners, % with Access to Resource Centers

The Center on Aging has identified performance measures of the number of individual participants in Commission meetings and working groups, and number of community partners developing and teaching senior housing guidelines.

Statute

The following statute applies to the Utah Commission on Aging in addition to the laws previously mentioned:

UCA 63M-11-203 Defines and outlines the duties of the Utah Commission on Aging.

The Utah Center on Aging was authorized within the University of Utah by Senate Bill 26 during the 2007 General Session. The bill provided authorization for the Center through July 1, 2009. During the 2009 General Session, the sunset date was extended to July 1, 2012. In the 2012 General Session, S.B.131, "Reauthorization of Utah Commission on Aging" passed, which extended the sunset date to 2017. Ongoing funding in the amount of $100,000 from the General Fund was also approved.
