Happy Tuesday

Is Mitt Romney running for president again? Depends on whom you ask. A Washington Post story noted yesterday that Romney has met with key donors and supporters of late and friends are urging him to jump in. [WaPost] But at the same time, Ann Romney says not only is Mitt out of the running but so are future races for their kids: "Done," she said. "Completely. Not only Mitt and I are done, but the kids are done," she said, referring to her five sons. "Done. Done. Done." [LATimes]

Topping the news: The firing squad execution could make its way back to Utah and possibly other states after some recent botched executions have raised concerns about the most humane way to handle the death penalty sentence. [DNews]

-> Mia Love and Doug Owens will face off once more after today on the same stage after the Love campaign agreed to a forum on KSL's Doug Wright Show. [UtahPolicy]

-> Salt Lake County wants to increase its effort to "Pay for Success" by figuring out ways to help kids succeed early on. [Trib]

Tweet of the day: From @ryanbeckwith: "21st century Twilight Zone plots: A man survives a nuclear holocaust only to find that his Kindle battery is low."

Tune in: Doug Owens, the Democrat running for Utah's 4th Congressional seat, talks guns, education, immigration and more with Trib Talk's Jennifer Napier-Pearce. Watch live at 12:15 p.m. Mountain Time at sltrib.com.

In other news: According to an independent poll, Republican Mia Love has a lead over Democrat Doug Owens in the race for Utah's 4th Congressional District seat but Owens is gaining. [Trib] The partisan divide in that race is fairly strong on both sides. [UtahPolicy]

-> Love, meanwhile, is going on the air with an ad featuring Mitt Romney pitching her as someone who will make a "terrific congresswoman." [UtahPolicy]

-> Soldiers from the Utah National Guard units returned yesterday from a deployment in Kosovo and Afghanistan. [Trib][DNews]

-> Thirty-four of Utah's middle schools and high schools will be awarded between $1,000 and $2,000 to help fight bullying thanks to Utah's Anti-Bullying Coalition. [Trib]

-> Pat Bagley offers his take on recent police shootings. [Trib]

Nationally: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are having to reconsider their approach to the Ebola virus after more cases have popped up. [NYTimes][WaPost]

-> A meeting of bishops at the Vatican showcased more tolerance and compassion toward same-sex relationships. [NYTimes][WaPost]

-> Turkish officials are denying there's a deal to let the United State use of their bases in fighting against Islamic jihadists, even though American officials announced Sunday that they had reached this agreement. [NYTimes]
