Legislators:

Later today Senator Hatch will be delivering an important speech at the historic Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California outlining his brand of conservative governance. The “Rancho del Cielo” has become a place where conservative thought leaders of our time share the message of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values.

The venue for this speech is especially significant because Senator Hatch's long legacy of fighting to limit the size and scope of the federal government, protect individual rights, enable institutions of civil society to flourish, strengthen the free market, and promote government accountability began in part because of the support he had from Ronald Reagan.

Please take the time this afternoon to tune in.

John Tanner

Deputy Legislative Director

Office of Senator Orrin Hatch

Senator Orrin Hatch to Give Major Policy Speech at the Reagan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California

Calls on the GOP to Promote a Conservative Vision for America, Enact Positive Reforms, and Demonstrate It’s the Party of Solutions

WHEN:               TODAY, October 8, 2014 at 11:40 AM (PST)

WHERE:              The Reagan Ranch Center in Santa Barbara, California – a well-known venue for public officials and other dignitaries to give major policy addresses.

NOTE:                 The speech will be live streamed at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/Young-Americas-Foundation.  Or you can click on a link at http://www.yaf.org/eventdetails.aspx?id=12842.

DETAILS:             The speech focuses on:

·         Principles and policies that can help unite the different parts of the Republican Party.

·         A conservative vision for America rooted in enduring constitutional principles.

·         Policy proposals that can position the GOP as the party of solutions, not shutdowns.

·         Five key priorities for a Republican-controlled Senate: health care, tax reform, regulatory relief, innovation and tech policy, and a social mobility agenda

NOTE:                 If Republicans recapture the Senate majority this November, Senator Hatch will be the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Chairman of the Finance Committee, an ideal position from which to help drive such an agenda.
