It is my understanding that the State Legislature will be considering a name change for Dixie State University. I have also heard that some representatives of the Washington County community are stating that “the majority of Washington County residents do not want this name change”. That is just not true.

I am on the Board of Trustees for St. George Regional Hospital and prior to that name change, I spoke with many local residents and business owners. There was overwhelming support for the name change and, in those conversations, the name change for DSU was encouraged. It made good business sense for the hospital and makes good business sense for the University. I STRONGLY SUPPORT this name change.

Please support this request for the University name change.
