Subject: Dixie State University Name Change Is A Must!

Hello State Senators,

My name is Greg Noel, and I am a BIPOC alumnus of Dixie State University. As a BIPOC alumnus, I have always had polarizing thoughts and feelings regarding the institution that helped to galvanize my academic potential. I find myself utterly bemused by how St. George and the state of Utah at large continue to doggedly cling onto the name Dixie; even though this name is the categorical antithesis of their desires to cultivate an uplifting and supportive learning environment for the BIPOC communities that they have and continue to invite to attend their institution.

I hope that this matter comes to an equitable resolution, and I know that this name change will help to further the institution and Utah's overall goal of becoming a more diverse and inclusive state for students and people of all walks of life.

Thank you and have a good rest of your day.
