Dear Senator, 

I've lived in St. George most of my life — I have a lot of respect for the history of those who settled St. George, but I don't think it's tenable long-term to have our community be attached to a name with such negative national connotations.

Even if you can make the (somewhat tenuous) case that there was LITERALLY NO CONNECTION between slave culture and Utah's Dixie, you have to respect that others in the country have very real reasons to react negatively to the word "Dixie".
