Feb 10, 2014 Representative Lee Perry State Capitol , Suite 350 350 North State Street Salt Lake City, UT 84114 Dear Representative Perry, I am writing to ask that you support school readiness and vote YES on HB96. I am a preschool teacher and have seen how preschool changes the odds for so many kids. Unfortunately, not all children in our state are able to be home with their parents in an enriching environment that prepares them for kindergarten. Many kids are already out of the home in a daycare environment. HB96 gives these programs the boost they need to provide high-quality preschool to these kids who so desperately need it. HB96 is a VOLUNTARY program: it does not force parents to give up their children. This is a win-win situation: if these programs do not work, the state doesn't pay for them. I certainly don't want to pay for another failed government program. This piece of legislation is comprehensive, exciting, and essential to the future of our state. Please, vote YES on HB96 tomorrow. Sincerely, Ms. Erika Gustafson 47 S 300 E Salt Lake City, UT 84111-1637
