Dear Lee,
I like what your are doing for the State of Utah with HB 79, HB 271 and HB 303, let me know as a citizen if there is anything that I can do to help. One thing you can do for us is to lift HB 37 into subcommittee. The THOUSANDS of kayakers, fishermen, rafters, and water recreation public have a political voice and we will be heard. All we are asking for a reasonable recreation easement to access public waters, you cannot provide this on your own I know, but you can vote to lift the bill into subcommittee. Idaho has had this law on their books for years and it has worked very well... (I drive up there all the time and spend my recreation dollars out of state as our current access law suck, thanks to Rep. McIff and his special interests). Not only Idaho, but the Montana supreme court recently upheld a stream access law in the face of special interests trying to privatize their public waters. Let's be a state of reasonable access, not a state that sells public access to special interests. Please send HB 37 to Subcommittee. Thanks you. Eric Wangsgaard 45 year Utah Native
