I recently learned that the State Senate is blocking Margaret Plane's judicial appointment by Governor Herbert. Margaret Plane is a qualified, reputable, and well-respected attorney whose experience in the state of Utah makes her an exceptional candidate. It is disturbing to me that the State Senate is blocking her confirmation; while I can't ascribe a specific cause, it's not hard to see that her sex and political leanings seem to be factors at play, despite this type of discrimination being expressly forbidden by the State constitution.

As her recommended appointment expires at the end of this month when Governor Herbert's term concludes, I implore you to do your job and schedule a hearing ASAP and proceed with Margaret Plane's confirmation as the Senate has with all the others.
