APPROPRIATION FOR CAPITOL HILL PROJECTS

    AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $200,000 FROM THE
    GENERAL FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC
    DEVELOPMENT FOR CAPITOL HILL PROJECTS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
    DATE.
    This act enacts uncodified material.
    Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
        Section 1. Appropriation.
        (1) Because the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum and Memory Grove are valuable
    contributors to the cultural and historic enrichment of the people of the state, there is appropriated
    $200,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 1998-99 to the Department of Community and
    Economic Development.
        (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Community and Economic
    Development shall distribute:
        (a) $140,000 to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum for construction and
    preservation projects, including the Carriage House addition; and
        (b) $60,000 to the Memory Grove Foundation for restoration projects at Memory Grove,
    including the Meditation Chapel.
        Section 2. Effective date.
        This act takes effect on July 1, 1998.
