AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; PROVIDING APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE SUPPORT OF STATE GOVERNMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1997 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1998 FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF CERTAIN STATE DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES OF STATE GOVERNMENT AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES AS IN THIS ACT PROVIDED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Utah:
Section 1. Under the terms and conditions of Section 63-38-3, the following sums of money are appropriated out of money not otherwise appropriated from the funds or fund accounts indicated for the use and support of certain state departments and agencies for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997 and ending June 30, 1998. This is in addition to amounts appropriated by Chapter 273, Laws of Utah 1997.

Transportation Program for the Aged $100,000
The State Board of Aging and Adult Services may make grants to local Area Agencies on Aging to acquire, upgrade or repair vehicles for transportation of aged persons. Selection criteria for the grants shall be made to serve as effectively as possible those areas of
the State in greatest need of assistance. It is understood that this is
the number one priority for the use of nonlapsing funds in the
division.
