    The State and Local Affairs Committee reports a favorable recommendation on 1st Substitute H.B. 227, SPECIAL DISTRICT ELECTIONS, by Representative J. Swallow, with the following amendments and recommends it be considered read for the second time and placed on the Consent Calendar.

1.     Page 8, Line 9:    After the first "jurisdiction" delete ",or if no newspaper is published within the board's jurisdiction,"
        Insert "and"

2.     Page 9, Line 6:    After "county" delete         "; or"
        Insert "and"
