Mr. President:

    The Business, Labor, and Economic Development Committee reports a favorable recommendation on S.B. 55, MUSIC LICENSING PRACTICES ACT, by Senator S. Howell, with the following amendments:
1.    Page 2, Line 25:    After Line 25, insert:
        "(4) "Copyright Owner" does not include the owner of a copyright in a motion picture or audio-visual work or a part of a motion picture or audio-visual work."

         Renumber remaining subsections accordingly.

2.    Page 5, Line 10:    At the beginning of the line, insert "(1)"

3.    Page 5, Line 12:     After Line 12, insert:
        "(2) This act does not apply to investigations by law enforcement agencies or other persons with respect to suspected violations of Subsection 13-10-8(2)(b)."
