Senator Beattie proposes the following amendments:

1.    Page 11, Lines 20-29a:
    Lilac - February 20, 1998    Delete lines 20 through 29a and insert:
        "(2) The board shall consist of the following fifteen members:
        (a) the governor;
        (b) the lieutenant governor;
        (c) the president of the Senate;
        (d) the speaker of the House of Representatives;
        (e) three members appointed by the governor;
        (f) two members of the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate, one from the majority party and one from the minority party;
        (g) two members of the House of Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, one from the majority party and one from the minority party;
        (g) the chief justice of the Supreme Court or his designee;
        (i) the director of the Division of Archives; and
        (j) an architect and a structural engineer; appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of both the Senate and the House of Representatives."
