APPROPRIATION FOR CENTER FOR
LANDSCAPE WATER MANAGEMENT

AN ACT RELATING TO APPROPRIATIONS; APPROPRIATING $100,000 FROM THE
GENERAL FUND IN FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 TO UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY
EXTENSION FOR A LANDSCAPE WATER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
This act enacts uncodified material.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Appropriation.
(1) There is appropriated $100,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 1999-2000 to
Utah State University Extension for a landscape water management program.
(2) The money appropriated in Subsection (1) may be used to hire personnel and pay for
operating expenses necessary to gather information, conduct research, and, through extension
offices, disseminate information and conduct training on the efficient use of water on lawns and
gardens, parks, golf courses, highway landscaping, and other similar landscaped areas.
(3) The money appropriated in Subsection (1) is nonlapsing.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act takes effect on July 1, 1999.
