AN ACT RELATING TO WATER DEVELOPMENT; REAUTHORIZING THE STATE
WATER DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION; APPROPRIATING $28,500 FROM THE
GENERAL FUND FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 TO PAY FOR COSTS OF THE
COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING A SUNSET DATE.
This act enacts uncodified material.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Reauthorization of commission.
(1) The State Water Development Commission created in Chapter 156, Laws of Utah
1994, is reauthorized through December 31, 2003.
(2) (a) The commission shall retain the same membership and staff as stated in the 1994
legislation.
(b) The commission shall consider and make recommendations to the Legislature and the
governor on the issues specified in the 1994 legislation as well as other water issues of statewide
importance.
Section 2. Appropriation.
Except as provided in H.B. 4, Appropriations Coordination Act, there is appropriated from
the General Fund for fiscal year 1999-2000:
(1) $6,000 to the Senate to pay for compensation and expenses of senators on the
commission;
(2) $7,500 to the House of Representatives to pay for the compensation and expenses of
representatives on the commission; and
(3) $15,000 to the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel to pay for costs of
staffing the commission.
