ADOPTION OF COUNTY BUDGET
1999 GENERAL SESSION

AN ACT RELATING TO COUNTIES; MODIFYING THE DEADLINE FOR ADOPTING THE
COUNTY BUDGET; AND MAKING TECHNICAL CHANGES.
This act affects sections of Utah Code Annotated 1953 as follows:
AMENDS:
17-36-15, as enacted by Chapter 22, Laws of Utah 1975
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Section 17-36-15 is amended to read:
17-36-15. Adoption of budget.
On or before the [15th day of the] last [month] day of each fiscal year, the governing body
by resolution shall adopt the budget which, subject to further amendment, shall thereafter be in
effect for the next fiscal year. A copy of the final budget, and of any subsequent amendment
thereof, shall be certified by the budget officer and filed with the state auditor not later than [thirty]
30 days after its adoption. A copy, similarly certified, shall be filed in the office of the budget
officer for inspection by the public during business hours.
