                  A RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE REVISING SENATE RULES; MODIFYING
                  IMPEACHMENT RULES; CLARIFYING CONCURRENCE PROCEDURES; MAKING
                  TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
                  This resolution affects legislative rules as follows:

                  Be it resolved by the Senate of the state of Utah:


                      Section 1. SR-25.15 is repealed and reenacted to read:
                       SR-25.15. Concurrence Calendar.
                      (1) (a) After the communication from the House informing the Senate that the House has
                  amended a Senate bill is read, the bill shall be placed on the concurrence calendar.
                      (b) During the first 43 days of the annual general session, the bill shall remain on the
                  concurrence calendar for at least one legislative day before the Senate may consider the question of
                  concurrence.
                      (c) During the last two days of the annual general session, and during any special sessions,
                  the bill may be considered for concurrence after giving senators a reasonable time to review the
                  House amendments.
                      (2) When presented to the Senate, the question shall be: "This bill (resolution) has been read
                  three times; the question is: Shall the Senate concur in the House amendments?"
                      Section 2. SR-37.24 is enacted to read:
                       SR-37.24. Impeachment.
                      If the House of Representatives submits articles of impeachment to the Senate to begin an
                  impeachment trial, the Senate shall adopt, by majority vote, policies establishing procedures for, and
                  governing the conduct of, the impeachment process.
                      Section 3. Repealer.
                      This act repeals:
                      Rule SR-37.02, Causes for Impeachment.
                      Rule SR-37.10, Presiding Officer for Impeachment Proceedings.
                      Rule SR-37.11, Articles of Impeachment; Highest Priority.
                      Rule SR-37.12, Notice of Hearing; Defendant Served with Articles.
                      Rule SR-37.13, Procedure for Service.
                      Rule SR-37.14, Failure to Appear; Procedure.
                      Rule SR-37.15, Appointment of Counsel for Defendant.
                      Rule SR-37.16, Senate Rules Govern.
                      Rule SR-37.17, Committee of the Whole for Impeachment.


                      Rule SR-37.18, Defendant May Answer or Demur.
                      Rule SR-37.19, Procedure when Demurrer Overruled.
                      Rule SR-37.20, Trial; Senators to be Sworn.
                      Rule SR-37.21, Voting in Impeachment.
                      Rule SR-37.22, Resolution of Judgment.
                      Rule SR-37.23, Effect of Suspension.
                      Section 4. Effective date.
                      This resolution takes effect upon approval by a constitutional majority vote of all members
                  of the Senate.
