Mr. Speaker:

    The Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 131, PRIVATE PRISON REQUIREMENTS, by Representative B. King, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 2, Line 50:    After "result of" delete "the operation of the facility" and insert
         "action or inaction by the contractor or its employees"

2.    Page 4, Line 99:    After "capacity" delete "except as necessary to carry" and insert
        "without the approval of the: (a) Legislature; and (b) county or
        municipal legislative body in which the facility is located"

3.    Page 4, Line 100:    Delete "out its contract with the department"
