Mr. Speaker:
The Health and Human Services Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 190, MEDICAID CHOICE CERTIFICATE, by Representative R. Short, with the following amendments:
1. Page 1, Line 22: After line 22 insert:
"(a) "Applicant" means a person who:
(i) applies for admission to a nursing care facility; and
(ii) is either a Medicaid recipient or a Medicaid applicant."
Renumber remaining subsections accordingly.
2. Page 2, Line 28: After "Services," delete "and" after "agencies" insert ", and other public agencies"
3. Page 2, Line 35: Delete "from which" and insert "by" and delete "determined" and insert "to determine"
4. Page 2, Line 38: After "other" insert "public"
5. Page 2, Line 58: After "seven" insert "calendar"
6. Page 3, Line 65: After "certificate" insert "by the local area agency"
7. Page 3, Line 66: After "failure of the" insert "local"
8. Page 3, Line 67: Delete "seven" and insert "10 working"

16. Page 3, Line 82: Delete the period and insert:
"; or
(iii) returns to the same nursing care facility within three consecutive working days of having been discharged from the nursing care facility for admission into a hospital."
17. Page 7, Line 185: Delete "seven" and insert "ten working"
