Mr. Speaker:

    The Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 257, CRIME REDUCTION TASK FORCE, by Representative J. Swallow, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 26:    After "(i)" delete "the chair of the Board of Juvenile Court Judges
        or designee" and insert "a juvenile court judge appointed by the
        Judicial Council"

2.     Page 1, Line 27:    After "(j)" delete "the chair of the Board of District Court Judges or designee" and insert "a district court judge appointed by the
        Judicial Council"

3.     Page 2, Line 55:    After "Committee" delete "before November 30, 1999." and insert "on or before the November 1999 interim meeting."
