Mr. President:

    The State and Local Affairs Committee reports a favorable recommendation on S.B. 52, MUNICIPAL ANNEXATION IN COUNTIES OF THE FIRST CLASS, by Senator R. Evans, with the following amendments:
1.    Page 5, Line 138:     After "discuss" delete ":"

2.    Page 5, Lines 139-141:     Delete lines 139 through 141

3.    Page 5, Line 142:     At the beginning of line 142 delete "(ii)"

4.    Page 5, Line 144:     After line 144 insert:

        "(d) Each agreement under Subsection (2)(a)(i) shall require the municipality to hire each career service employee of the county who is displaced by the annexation, with full career service status and at a similar pay and with similar benefits as the employee was receiving from the county."
