APPROPRIATION FOR HOME ENERGY
2 ASSISTANCE TARGET PROGRAM
3 2001 GENERAL SESSION

6 This act appropriates h [ $2,500,000 ] $200,000 h from the General Fund, for fiscal year 2001-02
6a only, to the
7 Department of Community and Economic Development for use in the Home Energy
8 Assistance Target Program. This act takes effect on July 1, 2001.
9 This act enacts uncodified material.
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
11 Section 1. Appropriation.
12 (1) For fiscal year 2001-02 only, there is appropriated h [ $2,500,000 ] $200,000 h from the
12a General Fund
13 to the Department of Community and Economic Development.
14 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Community and Economic
15 Development distribute the money appropriated in Subsection (1) to those who are eligible under
16 Title 9, Chapter 12, Part 1, "Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) Program Act" to assist in
17 the unexpected increase in public utility rates which has arisen during this period of volatility in
18 the energy markets.
19 Section 2. Effective date.
20 This act takes effect on July 1, 2001.
