to study the effects of fallout from the Nevada Test Site.
Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:

radiation released from the Nevada Test Site and were the most heavily exposed population in the
United States;
WHEREAS, since fallout from the Nevada Test Site began, many citizens of the state of
Utah have developed cancers and other related health effects which may be due to radiation
exposure;
WHEREAS, the federal government has authorized the creation and funding of six
radiation exposure health effects subcommittees;
WHEREAS, five radiation exposure health subcommittees have already been established
for sites producing far less radiation exposure than that created by the Nevada Test Site;
WHEREAS, the fifth committee was recently established, leaving only one remaining slot
for a radiation exposure health effects subcommittee; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the people of Utah that the remaining radiation
exposure health effects subcommittee be allocated to the Nevada Test Site:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
