First Substitute H.B. 236

Representative Ben C. Ferry proposes to substitute the following bill:

1 HIGHER EDUCATION CLASSROOM COSTS IN
2 UNDERSERVED AREAS
3 2001 GENERAL SESSION
4 STATE OF UTAH
5 Sponsor: Ben C. Ferry
6 This act provides an ongoing appropriation of $293,000 to pay facility lease and operating
7 costs for continuing education programs offered by Utah State University at Brigham City,
8 Moab, and Tooele. This act takes effect on July 1, 2001.
9 This act enacts uncodified material.
10 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
11 Section 1. Appropriation.
12 (1) Subject to future budget constraints, there is appropriated as an ongoing appropriation
13 to Utah State University from the General Fund for fiscal year 2001-02, $293,000 to be used by
14 the university for its continuing education program.
15 (2) The university shall use the appropriation for facility lease and operating costs at the
16 following sites:
17 (a) $125,000 at the Brigham City site;
18 (b) $35,000 at the Moab site; and
19 (c) $133,000 at the Tooele site.
20 Section 2. Effective date.
21 This act takes effect on July 1, 2001.
