             6      This act appropriates $5,000,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2001-02 only, to the
             7      Division of Community Development to be used as a grant to a private endowment under the
             8      direction and control of a private nonprofit entity, the earnings of which will be used as
             9      supplemental funding for agencies providing rehabilitative services to persons who are
             10      homeless. The act provides an effective date.
             11      This act enacts uncodified material.
             12      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             13          Section 1. Appropriation.
             14          (1) To address problems related to homelessness, pursuant to Section 9-4-202 , there is
             15      appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 2001-02 only, $5,000,000 to the Division of
             16      Community Development within the Department of Community and Economic Development.
             17          (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the appropriation under Subsection (1) be used
             18      as a grant to a private endowment under the direction and control of the Crusade for the Homeless,
             19      the earnings of which will be used as supplemental funding for organizations that provide
             20      rehabilitation services to persons who are homeless.
             21          Section 2. Effective date.
             22          This act takes effect on July 1, 2001.
