SENATE RULES RESOLUTION - USE OF
2 MASON'S MANUAL
3 2001 GENERAL SESSION
4 STATE OF UTAH
5 Sponsor: Michael G. Waddoups
6 This Senate resolution modifies Senate rules by establishing Mason's Manual of Legislative
7 Procedure as a reference for parliamentary procedure. This resolution takes effect upon
8 passage by the Senate.
9 This resolution affects legislative rules as follows:
10 REPEALS AND REENACTS:
11 SR-34.03
12 Be it resolved by the Senate of the state of Utah:
13 Section 1. SR-34.03 is repealed and reenacted to read:
14 SR-34.03. Mason's Manual of Legislative Procedure; Reference.
15 In addition to legislative rules, the presiding officer may use Mason's Manual of Legislative
16 Procedure as a reference when a question arises about parliamentary practice, legislative process,
17 or legislative procedure that is not resolved by reference to legislative rules.
18 Section 2. Effective date.
19 This resolution takes effect upon approval by a constitutional majority vote of all members
20 of the Senate.
