Mr. Speaker:

    The Government Operations Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 314, ELECTION CODE - MILITARY OVERSEAS BALLOT PROCEDURES, by Representative M. Throckmorton, with the following amendments and recommends it be placed on the Consent Calendar.

1.    Page 2, Lines 37-39:    Delete lines 37-39

2.    Page 2, Line 40:    Insert "(a)" at the beginning of the line

3.    Page 2, Line 42:    After line 42 insert
        "(ii) the ballot is in the possession of a military mail courier, is en route to the appropriate Fleet Post Office or Army/Air Force Post Office and can be certified as having been picked up on or before election day; or"

4.    Page 2, Line 43:    Delete "(ii)" and insert "b"

5.    Page 2, Line 46:    Delete "(A)" and insert "(i)"

6.    Page 2, Line 47:    Delete "(B)" and insert "(ii)"

7.    Page 2, Line 48:    Delete "(C)" and insert "(iii)"
