ELECTION PROCESS AMENDMENTS

                  This act modifies the effective date of S.B. 2003, 2001 Second Special Session, by directing
                  that the four member Congressional redistricting plan enacted in that bill will take effect on
                  a date established in a joint resolution of the Legislature. This act takes effect immediately.
                  This act affects uncodified material as follows:
                  AMENDS:
                  Uncodified Section 3, Chapter 7, Laws of Utah 2001, Second Special Session
                  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
                      Section 1. Uncodified Section 3, Chapter 7, Laws of Utah 2001, Second Special
                  Session is amended to read:
                      Section 3. Contingent effective date.
                      This act takes effect [when the Clerk of the United States House of Representatives
                  certifies to the state of Utah that it is entitled to four representatives in the United States House of
                  Representatives] on the date specified in a Joint Resolution passed by the Utah Legislature.
                      Section 2. Effective date.
                      If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this act takes effect
                  upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
                  Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto, the
                  date of veto override.
