Chair Bryson called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

1st Sub. S.B. 42    New Automobile Franchise Act Amendments (Dan Eastman)

Sen. Eastman introduced the bill with the assistance of Craig Bickmore, Utah Auto Dealers Association.

MOTION: Rep. D. Clark moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Duckworth, Rep. Hatch, and Rep. Ferry absent for the vote.

MOTION: Rep. Hansen moved to approve the minutes of the January 24, 2002 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hatch and Rep. Ferry absent for the vote.

H.B. 260    Restrictions on Telephone Solicitation (Karen Morgan)

Rep. Morgan introduced the bill.

Spoke for the bill:    Francine Giani, Division of Consumer Protection, Department of Commerce.

MOTION: Rep. Hansen moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion failed with Rep. Biskupski, Rep. Duckworth, Rep. Hansen, and Rep. Morgan voting in favor of the motion. Rep. Ferry was absent for the vote.

H.B. 257    Proof of Age Under the Alcoholic Beverage Code (Duane Bourdeaux)

Rep. Bourdeaux introduced the bill.

Spoke for the bill:    Judy Hamaker, Department of Public Safety, Driver's License Division


MOTION: Rep. Hatch moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Rep. Biskupski moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
